5 Green Cleaning Recipes for a Fresh Home

by , under Cleaning products

Using environmentally conscious cleaning products is a much better alternative for your home especially with your family or pets around. In fact, when you think green, you can make some cleaning supplies right in your own home.

Here are 5 green cleaning recipes to get you started for a fresh home:

1. All-Purpose Cleaner
This recipe calls for half cup warm water, half cup vinegar, two tablespoons lemon juice, and fifteen drops of tea tree oil. Pour the mixture together into a spray bottle and it is perfect to use as an all-around and all-purpose cleaner while you’re doing a scrub down of the home.

2. The Grease Cutter
For another fairly easy recipe take two cups warm water, one-fourth cup Castile soap, ten drops essential oil (lemon is a good one) and mix it all together in a spray bottle to get out those tough grease stains that can make their way on kitchen surfaces.

3. The Toilet Bowl Cleaner
You will need one cup Borax, one-fourth cup vinegar and then mix it together in a cup and pour into the toilet bowl. Much easier and safer than non-green cleaning supplies with their harsh chemicals and fumes.

4. The Window Cleaner
This is meant for the outside portion of windows which ideally should be cleaned at least thrice a year. The recipe calls for two cups water, three tablespoons vinegar and one half tablespoon of liquid dish detergent. You can mix everything into a bucket and start washing away the grime and dirt from the outside of your windows.

5. Carpet Stain Remover
This is another one that works wonders! All you need to do is sprinkle some baking soda on the stain and then combine one tablespoon clear dish washing liquid, two tablespoons vinegar and two cups of warm water and use that mixture to blot the stain out.
